hongkong itinerary

what can be more exciting than planning your own trip and creating your own itinerary? none! that's why in all of my travels i choose to make my own. not that travel agencies don't make good itineraries. i just have more freedom and potentially save a lot of "dadels" if i make them myself. in my previous post, a guide to hongkong first timers, i mentioned that hongkong was my first international adventure. and it was the best place to experiment and learn.

before you start making your itinerary, you have to decide on accommodation first. once done, you can then plot the places you want to visit. if you're going on a hongkong tour and on budget, i suggest you stay in a hostel. a hostel is an inexpensive lodging place for travelers. please don't associate it with the horror movie entitled the same, you won't like the idea. usa hostel was right smack in the center of hongkong where all the major attractions where. its location made it so easy to move from one attraction to another.

the idea is to make your itinerary as your guide. you don't have to follow it as it is. it's still good to be spontaneous because who knows you might pass by something worth seeing but is not on the itin. enjoy each attraction and do not be pressured by what's on schedule. this is the whole point of making your own, so you have the freedom to roam wherever and however you want.

what's fun about having your own itinerary is the joy of being lost and finding your way back. we got lost several times in hongkong not knowing which streets to take but we always have our reliable maps to help us.
it practices your

to give you an idea, here's the itinerary that me and toni brought along during our hongkong trip. as you can see the schedule is so tight but we had the luxury to change it. so we did and we had fun!

enjoy your trip and happy ngipirt.
