peace kiko

yesterday afternoon i heard about francis "kiko" magalona's death. it still came as a surprise even if i knew he's battling cancer. i didn't expect him to pass in less than a year (he was diagnosed with leukemia aug 2008).

sometime ago i stumbled upon "a free mind", his multiply site. there, francis m. wrote about his treatment and how he's living his life as a cancer patient. his blogs made me believe he's going to live a long life.

i learned so much about him, his interests and his family.

...that he is into photography and most of his kids are too
...that he has a business called 3stars&asun
...that he has a project with ely b. called the sickos (cool project name by the way)
...that he's bestfriends with michael v.
...that he keeps friends close
...that he is indeed a great family man who loves them so much

his music is his legacy to the nation. he wouldn't be named the master rapper if not for this. francis m. is nationalistic. his songs, his clothing line, his cause, always speaks of the country.

while he may have left physically, francis m. will always be remembered.
