junk for cash


i cleaned the house today. something i should be given an award for because i rarely do big time cleaning. i do a little arranging and sweeping maybe but that's about it. i was encouraged to finally do it after noticing that the house is becoming cluttered. and i hate the sight of junk piling up.

first i did my rounds in the house checking to see which ones i can give away. can you believe i still have shoes stacked from way back elementary? we also have those shoes we bought from ukay-ukay that we never got to wear yet. i remember from an oprah episode that anything you haven't used for at least 6 months should be disposed. so about 15 pairs went in to the donation box.


outside, i placed all plastic bottles and empty plastic containers into the sack. good thing my mom segregates these from the regular trash. we probably accumulated a kilo and a half of them this month. into another sack went the shoe boxes and cartons and papers. another kilo of them neatly piled.

i checked the rooftop and saw more junk. we have two monitors, cpu and cooktop waiting to be disposed. there was even a gas range which i don't want to touch yet because my mom is sort of attached to it due to it's sentimental value. it was the first appliance that she and dad bought.

i spent a good number of hours segregating and piling up these junk outside the house. so when everything were ready, i called the number to the junkshop which i got from istorya.net and they immediately sent somebody to pick them up.

i ended up with php 150 cash for the trash. not much but it felt really great. and the house? it's more spacious and clutter free!
