danny gokey

we all have our favorites every season of american idol. there are specific performances that we just can't get over with. danny gokey's p.y.t is the best ive seen so far, this year. it's a mix of his husky, sexy voice and the beat of michael jackson's hit. the effect makes me wanna dance and sing na na na na back to him.

i really just love listening to him. even in the office, the song won't stop playing in my head. when i get home, his video is on queue for sure. in fact, i am singing the song while im writing this piece.

another of his performance that i love is his rendition of carrie underwood's jesus take the wheel. again it's his voice when he sings that moved me to tears. yes, i cried the whole time i was listening to him. made me reflect, made me...pray.

i can't wait to be gokey'd this week.

surfing in siargao

i do not swim. but guess what? you bet i can surf! (yep, that's me on the pic)

siargao is the surfing capital of the philippines. the island, which is 437 sq km in land area facing the pacific ocean became popular not only to local surfers but to foreigners as well. according to the "native delicacies" (term used by a friend to mean hot local surfers), surfing competitions only started 1996 which was 3 years after it was featured in surfer magazine.

getting my hair dyed at alex salon

i suddenly thought about giving my hair some color and so yesterday my sister accompanied me to alex salon to get it done. i told the haircolorist that i want some lowlights and what i got was a confused expression. so i started explaining and pointing at pictures.

finally, i got a confirmation that he knew exactly what i was talking about. the haircolorist then gave me haircolor suggestions, which i hesitantly agreed to. and then he quoted me Php1,500 for everything, 3 colors with haircut.

while i was shampooed, i saw some banners hanging from the ceiling saying something like, "trust the experts, 10 years in the industry." i also heard that alex, the haircolorist i was talking to, used to be with a known salon in the country and then got into a deal with one of his customers to put up their own.

looking at my hair, i'd say experience is not enough. i don't see what i expected as a result. for alex salon to be on top, there should be continous learning. research is needed and trainings must be attended. this way they'll be more updated with the latest terms and styles in fashion.

alex salon has got to do a lot more to improve on their services.
i am not a happy camper. 4/10 in my grading sheet.

yesterday afternoon i heard about francis "kiko" magalona's death. it still came as a surprise even if i knew he's battling cancer. i didn't expect him to pass in less than a year (he was diagnosed with leukemia aug 2008).
