cyma, opa!
when i was invited for lunch at cyma last sunday, i was a bit worried. i shouldn't be, right? first of all, this is an all expense paid lunch. second, this is an extravagant all expense paid lunch! ok, ok truth is, i am not very adventurous when it comes to food. i feel that i am only satisfied and full when i eat food that are familiar to the taste bud. filipino style cooking, my mom's or dad's cooking, the patis-suka (soy sauce-vinegar) mix or the hot and crispy kfc big breast breakfast are my cravings.
the thought of greek food is not very appealing. who knows what it'll taste like? i had bad experiences with foreign tasting food, so i was hoping this wouldn't be another one. i was warned that the food might be a little too bland for me. i had to expect the worst. . .that was the mindset.
our orders were then served. pastisado, paidakia (lamb chops) and potatoes all cooked in greek style, in to share servings. yummmmy! i was impressed and maybe the mindset did work but i almost licked the plate clean, specifically the pastisado-greek osso bucco (spaghetti topped with beef shanks in greek tomato sauce). the slabs of beef were tender and the taste was perfect.
it was also good to note that the staff were all smiles when they approach you, very eager to serve their guests. the guy who took our orders also made suggestions on what to eat. also, there was a quick display of food set on fire and then opa!
i will definitely go back and try the rest of the best sellers. now, im liking the idea of trying new eats.
