what i love about being here in manila is i get to cook. cooking isn't really my passion but when i'm here it becomes a ngipirt. first of all the kitchen's nice. second, there's always something in the pantry. third, there's nobody else to prepare the food. so a couple of days back, we had this >>> pomelo squid salad. sounds familiar? scroll down and read the post filipino food festival @ the marco polo. i blabbed about this dish being my favorite.
disclaimer: i made this pomelo squid salad based on how i remember the taste. i really didn't know what was in that bowl except the obvious ingredients, pomelo and squid. after two pomelo squid salad bowls prepared, here's what i think are the ingredients. *nuuk*
ingredients:
pomelo
dried squid
salt
vinegar
pepper
peel and prepare your pomelo so it looks like this. :-)
if the pomelo is too ripe, it'll be more difficult to prepare.
and the salad will be too watery.
fry dried squid until golden brown. be sure it's not overcooked.
a good frying time is less than a minute in a hot pan.
cut the squid into strips.
don't include the little martian squid heads.
mix 'em all together in bowl.
use the rest of the ingredients to taste.
wapak! pomelo squid salad
