i love theatre! i would watch a play when given the chance. so much more if i have prime seats for the show. :-) how prime is prime? well... let's just say not too close that'll hurt my neck and not too far that'll hurt my eyes. woot! honestly i didn't know what the play's about. all i know was that it's a famous musical, popularized the song memory and that lea salonga is in it. i was up for a surprise. and boy was it a happy surprise!
the set. wow! my jaws dropped the moment i saw it. it looked like a junkyard where you'd imagine cats to convene. of course, since you have human-sized cats, everything was made to scale... huge rusty oven, over-sized car trunk and a big tire. there were holes scattered around where the cats will make surprise entrances and exits. "a giant playground for cats" it was.

i hope i had a better photo of the set up close. unfortunately, photo taking wasn't allowed when the lights are on. photo from ningning barcenas below should give you an idea how grand the set was.

the cats. err... cast. amazing! not saying this because lea was part of it. everyone deserved the standing ovation. at first i thought they were lip-syncing coz they had all these acrobatics going on while singing but nope. props to their dancing, except for lea, *grins* whose role showed off her singing ability.

i loved how the cats interacted with the audience and roamed around the place. they would appear in the audience area in some parts of the play too. it was a good way of getting everyone's attention especially since they were introducing themselves.

i was all smiles after. definitely an unforgettable ngipirt. the songs are still playing in my head, until now. this is something i would like to do regularly. it doesn't have to be as expensive and as popular. yes, ngipirt theatre! what's next?
